Go2 was created from a lifelong passion for music, culture, and connection. Founder Anthony Woods grew up in the Oakland\/San Francisco Bay Area surrounded by sound \u2014 inspired by his father, a local DJ whose voice and equipment checks became part of Anthony\u2019s earliest memories.<\/p>\n
After his parents divorced, music faded from his life, but it reappeared years later when Anthony reunited with his father and learned to DJ. When that opportunity suddenly disappeared, Anthony stepped away from music \u2014 but the dream never fully left.<\/p>\n
Years later, Anthony made a decision:

Go2 was created from a lifelong connection to music, resilience, and the belief that every voice deserves a platform. For founder Anthony Woods, music wasn\u2019t just entertainment \u2014 it was family, culture, and identity.<\/p>\n
Growing up in the Oakland\/San Francisco Bay Area, Anthony spent his early years listening to his father, John Henry Woods, a local DJ known throughout the Bay. At just 6 to 8 years old, Anthony would hear his dad testing equipment throughout the house.<\/p>\n
\u201cTest 1-2-3\u2026 Test 1-2-3\u2026\u201d
\nThose words became the soundtrack of his childhood.<\/p>\n
But when Anthony’s parents divorced at age eight, the music stopped. The daily rhythm of speakers and turntables disappeared from his life. Searching for a creative outlet, Anthony turned to music in another form \u2014 learning violin and drums, and attending school trips to the Oakland and SF Symphony.<\/p>\n
At 12\u201313 years old, Anthony reunited with his father. This time, his dad invited him to learn to DJ, placing him behind the same equipment he once grew up hearing. Anthony was hooked instantly. His father promised to gift him the DJ setup \u2014 a promise that gave Anthony hope for a future in music.<\/p>\n
But that moment never came.
\nThe equipment was sold, and with it, Anthony\u2019s musical journey came to an unexpected stop. For years, the disappointment silenced his passion.<\/p>\n
Years later, Anthony realized something powerful: he didn\u2019t need anyone else\u2019s equipment or permission to follow his purpose. He could build something of his own \u2014 something bigger than where his story started.<\/p>\n
That vision became Go2.<\/p>\n
